Two ways to do it

Do it yourself. Sign in, open Settings and choose Delete account. It is the same button in the CREVNU app under Settings. You do not have to ask anybody, and you do not have to install the app to use it.

Or ask us. Email hello@crevnu.com from the address on your account and say you want it deleted. We complete deletions within 30 days, as the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 requires.

Before it will go through

Money is the one thing we will not let you walk away from by accident. Deleting is refused, with the reason on screen, while any of these are true:

  • a deal of yours is still running
  • money of yours is still in escrow
  • a withdrawal of yours is still being paid
  • your wallet still holds a balance

Finish or cancel the deals and withdraw what is yours, then delete. Nothing is taken from you for leaving.

What deleting does

Your login is removed and you cannot sign in again. Your name, username, picture, cover, bio, niche, business name and interests are erased from your profile, your verification is cleared, your profile stops being discoverable, and your saved bank account details are deleted.

Then the rest of it goes: every picture and file you uploaded — your avatar, your portfolio, the covers on jobs you posted — your visit rows, your saved lists, your follows and likes, the people you blocked, your withdrawal PIN, and the token we send notifications to. Your messages keep their place in the other person’s conversation and lose your words, so nobody else’s chat is left with holes in it.

What we have to keep, and for how long

Nigerian anti-money-laundering and tax law does not let us erase everything the moment you ask, and we would rather say so than pretend. These clocks run from your last activity:

  • the money record of a deal — 7 years
  • identity and verification records — 5 years
  • sign-in records and app error reports — 180 days
  • visit logs, with the identifying parts stripped after 90 days — 18 months

Those records are kept to answer a regulator and are used for nothing else. If there is something else of yours you want removed, email hello@crevnu.com and we will do it by hand.
